For teachers, tuition and coaching classes

Take attendance online, in about ten seconds

Open the batch, tap the two or three who are absent, and save. Everyone else is marked present. The register builds itself, the percentages are already worked out, and nothing has to be copied into a notebook afterwards.

How do I take attendance online?

In Veda you open the batch, tap only the students who are absent, and save — about ten seconds for forty students. The register builds itself, per-student percentages are calculated on classes held rather than days the school was open, past sessions stay editable, and the register exports to Excel. Free.

The thirty seconds at the start of a period

Mark the exceptions, not the class

Calling forty names takes four minutes of a thirty-five minute period. Marking the exceptions takes ten seconds: the batch opens with everyone present, you tap whoever is not there, and you save. That is the whole interaction, and it is the only one that survives a real timetable.

  • Everyone starts present — tap only the absentees
  • One batch at a time, so the list is short
  • Works on a phone, standing at the door
  • Saved the moment you tap save
Because the register is always wrong once

Yesterday can be corrected

A student walks in ten minutes late, or produces a medical note on Thursday for a Monday. A register you cannot edit is a register teachers stop trusting, so session history is open: go back to the day, change the mark, and every percentage downstream recalculates.

  • Open any past session and change it
  • Percentages recalculate from the corrected record
  • The history stays visible, not overwritten silently
  • No separate "correction" workflow to learn
What the register is for

The percentage, before anyone asks for it

Attendance matters because of a threshold — most Indian boards ask for 75% of classes held, counted on classes held rather than days the school was open. The per-student percentage is calculated as you go, so the question "where is this student" has an answer in November instead of January.

  • Per-student and per-batch percentages, always current
  • Export the register to Excel when someone needs the file
  • Students can see their own record, so they stop asking
  • Months add up without a spreadsheet in between
Who this is actually for

Where taking it online pays off

Tuition and coaching batches

Several batches a day, different students in each. The batch list is the unit, not the school roll.

School teachers with many sections

Four sections of the same subject means four registers. One app, one tap each.

Classes where parents ask

A parent asking "how many has he missed" gets a number rather than a promise to check.

Board-exam years

The 75% requirement is a real risk in Class 10 and 12. Seeing it in November is the point.

Substitute and shared teaching

Whoever takes the period marks it; the register is the batch's, not one teacher's notebook.

Anyone still using paper

The paper register is not the problem — adding the percentages up at the end of term is.

Questions

Before you mark your first day

How long does it actually take?

About ten seconds for a batch of forty, because you only tap the absentees. The design assumes you are standing at a door with a phone, not sitting at a desk.

Can I correct a day I got wrong?

Yes. Open the past session, change the mark, and every percentage that depends on it recalculates. A register you cannot edit is one teachers stop trusting by the second week.

Do students need to install anything?

Not for you to take attendance — you mark it. If you want them to see their own record they join your class with a code or a link, with no email required.

Can I get the register as a file?

Yes, export it to Excel when the office or a parent needs the document.

Does it calculate the percentage on days or on classes?

On classes held, which is what boards ask for. A day the school was open but your period did not run is not a class your student missed.

Is it free?

Yes — attendance, the register and the reports are free for you as the teacher, with no ads and no per-student charge.

Does it work for several batches?

Yes, that is the normal case for tuition and coaching. Each batch keeps its own register and its own percentages.
