What Veda costs, worked out for your school

Two plans, priced per student per year, with the first term free. Below is the arithmetic for a small, a medium and a large school — including the size at which we stop being the cheaper option.

How much does school management software cost in India?

Veda costs ₹50 per student per year for the school office — attendance, marks and report cards, fees, timetable and promotion — or ₹120 per student with AI tools for teachers and verified NCERT chapter practice. A 500-student school pays ₹25,000 or ₹60,000 a year. The first term is free.

The two plans

₹50 for the office. ₹120 adds the part that changes results.

The office plan is everything a school already does on paper, done once and reused everywhere: attendance that prints its own register, marks that become a report card without being retyped, fees with numbered receipts, the timetable, and year-end promotion. The ₹120 plan adds the AI your teachers use and the chapter practice that is checked against the NCERT books.

  • ₹50 — attendance, marks and report cards, fees and receipts, timetable, promotion
  • ₹120 — all of that, plus answer keys, question papers and quizzes from any chapter
  • ₹120 — plus verified NCERT chapter practice for Classes 5 to 9
  • Both are per student, per year, for the students you actually enrol
  • Pilot schools keep their price for the first paid year
What is not on the bill

No setup fee, no per-teacher licence, no charge for the app

The common surprises in this category are a one-time setup or "implementation" charge, a separate per-teacher licence for the admin panel, and a per-SMS cost that is invisible until the first invoice. Veda has none of them. The AI runs from the school's account, so a teacher never pays and never runs out mid-term.

  • No setup or implementation fee — we set your classes up during the pilot
  • No per-teacher licence; every teacher in the school is included
  • The student app is free to the family, on Android, with no email address needed
  • Separate logins for the accountant and clerks are included, not an add-on
  • Printing registers, report cards and fee reports is included
The honest comparison

Per student is cheaper for a small school and dearer for a large one

Most school software in India is sold as a flat annual licence — one price whether you have 180 students or 1,800. Veda is priced per student. That is better for a small school and worse for a big one, and it is worth doing the multiplication before anyone tells you we are cheaper. A large school should choose Veda for the verified practice and the AI, which a flat licence does not include at any price.

  • Under about 500 students, per-student pricing is the cheaper structure
  • Around 500, the office plan is roughly level with a typical flat licence
  • Above that, a flat licence is cheaper — and has no verified practice in it
  • You pay for the students you enrol, so a shrinking roll costs less, not the same
  • Nothing is backdated: a student admitted in January is charged from January
The free term

One whole term, at no cost, with your real students in it

Not a fourteen-day trial with sample data. We set up your classes and divisions with you, import your student list from your spreadsheet, and train your teachers in one session. Then you run a real term on it — a real attendance register, real marks, real receipts — and decide at the end.

  • Your classes, divisions and student list, imported before you start
  • One training session for your teachers, not a PDF manual
  • Every roll number kept, every row checked before anything is saved
  • If you do not continue, we delete your school's data on request
  • If you do, you keep the pilot price for the first paid year
Before you budget

The five things that decide your actual bill

Which plan

₹50 is the office. ₹120 adds AI for teachers and the verified chapter practice. Most schools pilot on ₹120 and decide at the end.

How many students

The enrolled roll, not the sanctioned strength. A school of 480 pays for 480.

When you start

Charged from the month a student is enrolled, so a mid-year start is not a full year.

The pilot term

Free, and the price you pilot on is the price you pay in the first paid year.

What is not charged

Setup, teacher licences, the student app, printing, and the office logins for your clerks.

What is not ready

Online fee payment is built but has never been run against a live payment gateway, so pilot schools collect at the counter.

Questions

What a trustee asks next

What does Veda cost per student?

₹50 per student per year for the school office — attendance, marks and report cards, fees and receipts, the timetable and year-end promotion. ₹120 per student per year adds AI tools for your teachers and the verified NCERT chapter practice. Your first term is free.

What would a 500-student school pay?

₹25,000 a year on the office plan, or ₹60,000 on the ₹120 plan. That is about ₹2,083 a month for the whole school on the office plan — roughly ₹4 per student per month.

Is there a setup or implementation fee?

No. Setting up your classes and importing your student list is part of the pilot and is not charged, during the pilot or after it.

Do we pay separately for each teacher?

No. Every teacher in the school is included, and the AI runs from the school's account, so no teacher pays for anything or runs out of credit mid-term.

Is Veda cheaper than other school ERP software?

For a small school, clearly. Around 500 students the office plan is about level with a typical flat annual licence, and above that a flat licence is cheaper. We would rather you did that multiplication now than discover it in year two. What a flat licence does not include at any price is chapter practice checked against the NCERT books.

What happens if our roll falls next year?

You pay for the students you enrol, so the bill falls with it. That is the main advantage of per-student pricing over a flat licence for a school whose numbers move.

Can we pay the fees online through Veda?

Not yet. Online payment is built but has never been run against a live payment gateway, so pilot schools start with counter receipts. We will tell you before that changes rather than after.

What happens at the end of the free term?

You decide. If you continue, you move to a paid plan from the next session and keep your pilot price for the first paid year. If you do not, we delete your school's data on request.

The arithmetic

Your school, both plans, per year

Find the row nearest your roll. There is no other multiplier — no band, no slab, no minimum.

School size Office · ₹50 With AI & practice · ₹120 Against a flat licence
200 students A small school or a single-shift primary ₹10,000 ₹24,000 Clearly cheaper than a flat licence
500 students A typical GSEB secondary school ₹25,000 ₹60,000 About level with a flat licence on the office plan
1,200 students A large school or a trust running two shifts ₹60,000 ₹1,44,000 Dearer than a flat licence — buy us for the practice, not the price

A flat licence is the usual structure in this category: one price for the school whatever its roll. We do not print competitors' figures here because the ones we can find are directory listings we have not confirmed — ask any vendor for theirs in writing, and do the multiplication for your own roll.
